First COVID-19 Vaccine Shot Experience and Side Effects

Last Thursday I got my first COVID-19 vaccine shot using Astra Zeneca at RS Carolus Salemba. It was a vaccination program by tiket.com. I happened to find the vaccination information from WhatsApp group.

There are many rumors about COVID-19 vaccines. Some say Astra Zeneca is more risky, other say it is more potent. Initially people doubted Sinovac since it is produced by China, now people are looking for Sinovac because it usually gives milder post-vaccination side effects. For me, I would take any brand at the first opportunity.

I was schedule to be vaccinated at 1 PM. I arrived at RS Carolus at 12:50 PM. There were several steps prior vaccination: data validation, form filling, and so on. The queue was orderly and guided by officers. The shot was surprisingly fast, it only took a few seconds. After the shot, I was told to wait for post-vaccination checking.

Since we have to take 2 vaccine shots, I signed up for the second shot on September 6th via tiket.com websites which was provided via QR code by the officer.

Thankfully I experienced only minor post-vaccination side effects, only thirst and hunger. I was thirsty I drank like 2 liters of water, and I was hungry I ate like 3 times my usual portion. By the next day I was able to run even though it was only half the usual distance.

So thank you tiket.com for opening a COVID-19 vaccination central. Remind me to use you on the next trip.
