So it began.. I started my MBA degree at UGM Jakarta on February this year.
It started with a discussion with my fiancé last year. We hoped that taking the MBA will help me run my company better. I’m grateful that she’s very supportive even though the MBA will cause additional responsibility and expenses, considering our planned wedding this September.
I choose UGM Jakarta because they have good accreditation, good reputation, and matching schedule. The class is only held at night on Friday and full day on Saturday. The matriculation is different with most university. It’s 1 semester, so normally the program will take 2.5 years.
This is us during the orientation class.
Currently I’m in matriculation semester. There are 4 classes: Finance & Accounting, Statistics for Business Decision, Managerial Economics, and Business & Management. I like each of the class. I can learn the theoretical basis of managing a business. I apply several principles in my business already.
My experience at UGM Jakarta is satisfactory. The lecturers are professional and knowledgeable. The materials are challenging. My fellow students are competent and fun to study with. As an IT professional, I also find SIMASTER, the learning software in UGM, quite complete in features, stable, and greatly supports us during our study.
